The goal of BCC’s professional development committee is to bring career exploration to the graduate students at Yale. We host internal events such as “How to Network” and “How to Build a Resume” and we are also focused on changing the atmosphere and curriculum in the graduate student programs so that career exploration starts earlier, with the support of students’ advisors.

A panel discussion that helps students think about constructive ways to discuss career development with their PI beyond the annual committee meeting
Certificate Programs
We’re trying to create and establish certificate programs (much like the teaching certificate) in Science Communication and Business/Management. We’re working with the Center for Teaching and Learning, the School of Management, and Office of career strategy to implement new programs.
